Overview: Em Atualidade histórica da ofensiva socialista – uma alternativa radical ao sistema parlamentar o marxista húngaro István Mészáros propõe um enfrentamento aos “graves problemas de nossa ‘política democrática’” como forma de responder à indagação: o que continua irremediavelmente errado no que se refere às genuínas expectativas socialistas? Fugindo de explicações simplistas que apontam “traições” no momento da chegada ao poder, Mészáros aponta para a necessidade de uma crítica profunda da concepção que vê na disputa dentro do sistema parlamentar um cenário de construção de transformações sociais. Segundo ele, o discurso político tradicional proclama o sistema parlamentar como “o centro de referência necessário de toda mudança legítima”, tratando como tabu qualquer crítica que sugira algo além de pequenas mudanças em seu funcionamento. O autor de Para além do capital propõe que a alternativa necessária a esse sistema estaria ligada à “questão da verdadeira participação”, definida por ele nos termos de “autogestão plenamente autônoma da sociedade pelos produtores livremente associados em todos os domínios, muito além das restritas mediações do Estado político moderno”. Mészáros defende a necessidade da criação de uma alternativa estrategicamente sustentável ao sistema parlamentar que liberte o movimento socialista da “camisa de força do parlamento burguês”. Num momento de grande contraste entre as promessas do passado e as condições realmente existentes, o que está em jogo é o “fenecimento do Estado”, uma vez que, apesar de dominar o parlamento, o capital é uma força “extraparlamentar por excelência”. Assim, o filósofo pauta a construção de alternativas pela busca da “reconstituição radical historicamente viável da unidade indissolúvel das esferas reprodutiva material e política”. Para se transformar a forma como são tomadas as decisões em nossa sociedade, é necessário “mudar radicalmente o desafio ao próprio capital como o controlador geral da reprodução sociometabólica”, o que para ele é inconcebível “pela simples derrubada política do Estado capitalista, muito menos pela vitória sobre as forças de exploração no âmbito de determinada estrutura de legislação parlamentar”.Esse lançamento tem por base a obra Historical actuality of the socialist offensive: alternative to parliamentarism (Londres, Bookmarks, 2010), composta pelo capítulo 18 do livro Para além do capital (São Paulo, Boitempo, 2002), acrescido de uma introdução especialmente preparada pelo autor para a nova edição. Trecho da obra O surgimento da classe operária na cena histórica foi apenas um acréscimo inconveniente ao sistema parlamentar, constituído bem antes de as primeiras forças organizadas do movimento operário tentarem manifestar em público os interesses vitais de sua classe. Do ponto de vista do capital, a resposta imediata a esse inconveniente mas crescente “incômodo” foi a rejeição e a exclusão dos grupos políticos operários. Mais tarde, entretanto, uma ideia muito mais adaptável foi instituída pelas personificações políticas mais ágeis do capital: domesticar de algum modo as forças do trabalho. Ela assumiu de início a forma do patrocínio parlamentar paternalista de algumas demandas da classe trabalhadora por partidos políticos burgueses relativamente progressistas e, mais tarde, a da aceitação da legitimidade dos partidos da classe trabalhadora no próprio Parlamento, embora, é claro, de uma maneira estritamente circunscrita, obrigando-os a se conformar às “regras democráticas do jogo parlamentar”. Inevitavelmente, isso significou para os partidos operários apenas o “consentimento livre” da sua efetiva acomodação, mesmo que pudessem manter por um longo período a ilusão de que com o passar do tempo eles seriam capazes de corrigir radicalmente a situação pela ação parlamentar a seu próprio favor. Assim a força extraparlamentar original e potencialmente alternativa do trabalho transformou-se, na organização parlamentar, permanentemente desfavorecida. Embora esse curso de desenvolvimento pudesse ser explicado pelas fraquezas óbvias do trabalho organizado em seu início, argumentar e justificar desse modo o que havia realmente acontecido, nas atuais circunstâncias, é apenas mais um argumento a favor do beco sem saída da social-democracia parlamentar. Pois a alternativa radical de fortalecimento da classe trabalhadora para se organizar e se afirmar fora do Parlamento – por oposição à estratégia derrotista seguida ao longo de muitas décadas até a perda completa de direitos da classe trabalhadora em nome do “ganhar força” – não pode ser abandonada tão facilmente, como se uma alternativa de fato radical fosse a priori uma impossibilidade. Really enjoyed this one. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
