Overview: La Pologne a connu une histoire glorieuse, à l’époque des Jagellons, quand, État multinational et multiconfessionnel, elle accueillait Juifs et protestants. Une histoire unique en Europe aussi, puisque la grande noblesse élisait le roi et qu’elle mit le souverain sous sa tutelle. Le pays fut alors soumis à la poigne du maréchal Pilsudski, avant de connaître les heures les plus tragiques de son histoire : l’invasion nazie et les horreurs de l’Holocauste, puis la mainmise de Staline. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Still a good book.

I was pleasantly surprised. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Will be looking for more from this author.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Worth the time and money.
