Overview: We have been there. Sifting through many emotions, not quite understanding what the fuss is all about? Who would have thought the pigment of our skin etched the journey of our lives when we were born into this unforgiving world; when we least expected, the rebel in us revolted fearlessly against the prevailing social injustices in our society; a significant moment when many of us marched together or even took to social media to express our bold opinions on these matters in the recent months? While many of us are fighting off our wars with depression, anger and morale issues, the world remains oblivious as we tell ourselves it's going to be alright. Is it really going to be alright? The global pandemic has changed our lives in many ways in the past year but a vivid question I ask myself is if we are recognizing the real problem here, the surge of estrangement in this digitally dominated world, leaving us to battle our inner demons alone and feeling dejected. I have taken these raw feelings that I have experienced whether it’s fragments from my life as an academically challenged child at one point, a daughter who lost her father in the face of life, a sort of recluse after the break down of my marital bliss or the inconceivable struggles of the brave ones that I have expressed in my poem "the exonerated five" a life story that inspired me to value what I have today.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Would probably read it again at some point.

Good, but not quite perfect. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. Enjoyable weekend read.
