Overview: A year in the zany life! Salem and Viv are chasing bad guys (and girls!) and getting themselves into trouble in this collection of Trailer Park Princess cozy mystery and madcap caper stories! Mud, Sweat, and Tears  Had Salem Grimes not given up cussing for Lent, she would have been spewing every bad word she knew as she hung, upside down and covered in mud, from the top of Maniac Mountain at this Easter's competitive "fun" run to raise money for a local charity. But she only has one more day, and she can't give up now. All she can do is think very bad thoughts as the blood rushes to her head and the rest of the world looks for a stolen football--the football caught in a Super Bowl-winning touchdown. If they don't find the football, the fundraiser is going to be a bust. But if Salem doesn't make it down from Maniac Mountain, she's going to go bust. Yankee Doodle DeadlySalem Grimes and her octogenarian sidekick Viv are celebrating Independence Day in true American style--with a golf cart parade, ice cream social, pet dress-up contest, and a to-the-mat round of Name That Tune at Viv's swanky retirement home, Belle Court. But the fireworks get an early start when the nephew of one of Belle Court's wealthiest residents is found murdered underneath a papier mache' Mount Rushmore float, and Viv's favorite physical therapist, Hot Ronaldo, is the main suspect. Salem and Viv put their own festivities on hold to once again track down a killer and declare Hot Ronaldo's independence from a prison sentence. Cornucopias and Counterfeit PoodlesOops. Salem Grimes knew that when she and Viv passed themselves off as private investigators, they weren't being completely truthful--she didn't know they might also be committing a felony! Turns out, there's more to becoming a PI than tacky business cards, night vision goggles ordered off the Internet, and nosy attitudes. This Thanksgiving is an especially bad time to learn this information because they also might have found Nigel the Lying Fraud Who Is Not, In Fact, a War Hero--walking pedigreed show poodles (or so he claims!) at the National Dog Show in Pennsylvania, of all things. Can they track down Nigel and bring him to justice while also running from the la-de-da real PI who wants to bring them to justice? Gold, Frankincense, and MurderIt's Christmas at Trailertopia, and Salem and her octogenarian partner-in-crime-solving Viv are jazzed about ringing in the season. The night takes a decidedly un-festive turn, though, when the grumpiest old man in the trailer park is found murdered! Before the night is over, Salem finds herself on the back of a donkey with her little dog Stump in her lap, pretending to be 'great with child.' She and Viv are pinch-hitting for Mary and Joseph in a live nativity gone very, very wrong--because the real Joseph has been accused of the murder!Together for the very first time, four holiday-themed novellas from the Trailer Park Princess series -- Mud, Sweat and Tears; Yankee Doodle Deadly; Gold, Frankincense, and Murder and the brand-new Thanksgiving caper, Cornucopias and Counterfeit Poodles!Together for the very first time, four holiday-themed novellas from the Trailer Park Princess series -- Mud, Sweat and Tears (Easter); Yankee Doodle Deadly (Independence Day); Gold, Frankincense, and Murder (Christmas) and the brand new Thanksgiving caper, Cornucopias and Counterfeit Poodles!Join Salem and Viv as they chase bad guys (and girls!), solve crimes, ride donkeys, accidentally set things on fire...you know, the usual mayhem."Sure it's a murder mystery, but there is compassion, a willingness to sacrifice, and answers to prayers, plus the usual Salem, Stump and Viv craziness. What more could you need?"

Not bad, but not my favorite. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. Just right down the middle.

Finished it in a couple of days. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.
