Overview: Sklavenhalter, Bürger, Bigamist Der Basler Handelsherr und Plantagenbesitzer Johann Rudolf Ryhiner erschiesst sich am 29. Juli 1824 in seinem Sissacher Landgut Schloss Ebenrain. Ihm droht eine Anklage wegen Bigamie, die nach geltender Rechtsprechung mit lebenslangem Zuchthaus bestraft wird. Er sieht Ruf und Leben zerstört. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
