Overview: The records show that there were in the Confederate armies from Mississippi the following commands: 49 Infantry Regiments. 24 Cavalry Regiments. 16 Cavalry Battalions. 1 Regiment Cavalry Reserves. 7 Regiments State Troops. 3 Battalions State Troops. 8 Battalions State Cavalry. 1 Mixed Regiment, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee. Mixed Battalion, Mississippi and Tennessee. Mixed Mississippi and Alabama Cavalry Battalion. 1 Regiment Partisan Rangers. 1 Battalion Partisan Rangers. 5 Battalions Sharpshooters. Artillery Regiment. Artillery Battalion. Artillery Battery. Jeff Davis Legion, mixed Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia cavalry. Of these 131 units perhaps 10% have had regimental histories written. The others are still waiting for someone to write a comprehensive account of their service. We have available Historical Sketch and Roster Volumes on 92 of these units. These are images of the Service Record cards compiled by the National Archives plus other rosters and notes we have gathered from our research. Good, but not quite perfect. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Not bad, but not my favorite. Some parts were interesting, while others were a bit of a slog to get through. Just right down the middle.
