Overview: Kita sudah mendaulat perpustakaan sebagai penggerak kegiatan membaca atau yang secara umum disebut gerakan literasi. Kita pun sudah terbiasa menggunakan semboyan semacam "membaca mencerdaskan bangsa". Kita bahkan sudah mengenakan kata "nasional" (kebangsaan) di nama institusi tertinggi bidang perpustakaan, yaitu Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia. Tulisan Putu Laxman Pendit di dalam karya ini mencoba mengulas apa yang kita maksud dengan kebangsaan atau nasionalisme jika kita berbicara tentang pustaka. Pembahasan akan dimulai dengan menggali terlebih dahulu makna atau artian di balik masing-masing kata pustaka, bangsa, dan negara; sebelum mencoba mencari kaitan antara ketiganya. Pendekatan historis dijadikan inti bahasan, sehingga penulis akan sedapat mungkin menghindari pembicaraan mengenai teknis dan operasionalisasi perpustakaan. Pun penulis tidak mendahului pemaknaan pustaka dan perpustakaan dengan mengutip definisi resmi tentang kata-kata itu.Melalui pendekatan sejarah tentang kata dan konsep pustaka ini penulis berharap dapat menemukan latarbelakang, mengapa sekarang kita justru memiliki dua istilah -- pustaka dan perpustakaan-- yang nampaknya semakin lama semakin berbeda maknanya. Namun bagaimanakah sesungguhnya pustaka dan perpustakaan memberikan sumbangan kepada bangsa dan kebangsaan, seringkali tak mudah untuk dijawab.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

Not bad, but not my favorite. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

It was just alright. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Not bad at all.

Glad someone recommended this to me. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. A solid 5/5 for me.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.
