Overview: Je n'ai pas l'intention de sacrifier au genre, dont j'ai assez dit combien il était à la fois convenu et illusoire, de l'autobiographie. Je voudrais seulement essayer de rassembler et de livrer quelques éléments pour une auto-socioanalyse. Je ne cache pas mes appréhensions, qui vont bien au-delà de la crainte habituelle d'être mal compris. J'ai en effet le sentiment que, en raison notamment de l'amplitude de mon parcours dans l'espace social et de l'incompatibilité pratique des mondes sociaux qu'il relie sans les réconcilier, je ne puis pas gager - étant loin d'être sûr d'y parvenir moi-même avec les instruments de la sociologie - que le lecteur saura porter sur les expériences que je serai amené à évoquer le regard qui convient, selon moi. En adoptant le point de vue de l'analyste, je m'oblige (et m'autorise) à retenir tous les traits qui sont pertinents du point de vue de la sociologie, c'est-à-dire nécessaires à l'explication et à la compréhension sociologiques, et ceux-là seulement. Mais loin de chercher à produire par là, comme on pourrait le craindre, un effet de fermeture, en imposant mon interprétation, j'entends livrer cette expérience, énoncée aussi honnêtement que possible, à la confrontation critique, comme s'il s'agissait de n'importe quel autre objet.

I was pleasantly surprised. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Will be looking for more from this author.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Worth the time and money.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. Enjoyable weekend read.
