Overview: Als achttienjarige student ontmoet Aaltje een jongen in een Amsterdamse discotheek. Hij nodigt haar samen met haar vriendin uit voor een avondje in het Concertgebouw. Tot haar verbazing ziet ze Jaap van Zweden als jongste concertmeester de trap af lopen, viool onder de arm. De vonk slaat over en nog geen jaar later treden ze in het huwelijk. De carrière van haar man neemt een grote vlucht, en samen met hun twee jonge kinderen genieten ze volop van een afwisselend leven. Bij haar derde zwangerschap vermoedt Aaltje echter dat er iets mis is. Maanden na de geboorte van hun zoon Benjamin wordt autisme bij hem vastgesteld. Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
