Overview: Donald Kalsched explores the interior world of dream and fantasy images encountered in therapy with people who have suffered unbearable life experiences. He shows how, in an ironical twist of psychical life, the very images which are generated to defend the self can become malevolent and destructive, resulting in further trauma for the person. Why and how this happens are the questions the book sets out to answer. Such a great read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Really enjoyed this one. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Glad I picked this up.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Pretty good overall. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Not bad at all.
