Overview: Im Anschluß an den Nürnberger Prozeß gegen die nationalsozialistischen Hauptkriegsverbrecher fanden von 1946 bis 1949 zwölf Nachfolgeprozesse statt; der erste von ihnen war der sog. Ärzteprozeß vor dem 1. Amerikanischen Militärtribunal in der Zeit vom 9.12.1946 bis 19.7.1947. Die Urteile wurden am 20.8.1947 verkündet.Angeklagt waren Ärzte, die in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus von sich aus und/oder im uftrag von Wehrmacht, Firmen, Organisationen und Institutionen Versuche am lebenden Menschen vorgenommen haben. Die Liste der »Forschungsobjekte« ist lang: Versuche mit Unterdruck und Unterkühlung, mit Meerwasser, Fleckfieber-Impfstoffen, Sulfonamiden, Knochentransplantationen, Phlegmone-Versuche, Versuche mit Giftgasen wie Lost und Phosgen; verhandelt wurde auch ein abstruses anthropologisches Projekt »Jüdische Skelettsammlung«; und schließlich ging es um die Mitwirkung von Ärzten bei der sogenannten »Euthanasie«, der Ausmerzung unerwünschten Volkstums und um die Massensterilisation.All diese sogenannten medizinischen Experimente wurden vor allem an jüdischen KZ-Häftlingen, Erwachsenen und Kindern vorgenommen, an Kriegsgefangenen, Geisteskranken und Angehörigen von für minder wertvoll gehaltenen osteuropäischen Völkern.In diesem Band geht es nicht um die juristischen Fragen. Glad someone recommended this to me. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Still a good book.

It was just alright. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
