Overview: If the tradition of the Mahakavya has been reestablished in 20th Century Kannada Literature, much of the credit should go to Kuvempu's Shri Ramayana Darshanam which exploded the popular belief that the age of the epic is over. A monumental epic penned by Kuvempu. The work is as much a product of individual sadhana as of the profound influence of Indian thought as a whole. This is the most popular work and the magnum opus by Kuvempu in Kannada based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. It earned him many distinctions including the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Jnanapeeth award in 1967.

Such a great read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Would probably read it again at some point.

Good, but not quite perfect. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. Still a good book.
