Overview: The coincidence of the celebration of two death centennials this year, namely, that of Jose Rizal (December 30) and that of Marcel del Pilar (July 4th) is likely to attract our attention mostly on the National Hero , to the disadvantage of Del Pilar. This is not surprising. Del Pilar's figure remains rather obscure in the popular mind. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Not bad at all.

Good, but not quite perfect. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. Still a good book.

I was pleasantly surprised. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.

Finished it in a couple of days. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Worth the time and money.
