Rien ne me contraint donc à m'attacher à la personne du Souverain. Si je tiens tant à comprendre sa démarche, c'est avant tout par souci nationaliste. Durant la seconde moitié de son règne, après s'être réconcilié avec les chefs de l'opposition, à la suite de la crise qui opposa le Maroc à l'Algérie au sujet de la décolonisation du Sahara-Occidental, Hassan II n'eut plus qu'une seule ambition : être un grand roi. Je pense qu'il a sa place dans la galerie des grands Souverains du Maroc. En écrivant ce livre, je ne veux ni le louer ni le dénigrer mais le comprendre, tout simplement.

A very satisfying read. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. A solid 4 stars from me.
