Overview: Et utvalg av Sigmund Freuds tekster fra grenselandet mellom psykoanalysen og diktningen. Psykoanalysens grunnlegger Sigmund Freud øvde stor innflytelse på kulturlivet i hele Vesten, ikke bare gjennom sitt menneskesyn, men også gjennom sine mange arbeider om kunst og litteratur. Denne boka viser Freuds litterære betydning på flere felt: Gjennom flere berømte sykehistorier framstår Freud som en meget selvbevisst forteller. Flere av tekstene foreligger på norsk for første gang, og professor Atle Kittang har skrevet et etterord. "Freud som litterær klassiker? Atle Kittangs utmerkede etterord gir gode argumenter for en slik kategorisering. Men dette har altså mye å gjøre med hvilke tekster av Freud boka velger å konsentrere seg om. Mellom psykoanalyse og litteratur åpner med den lange og intrikate sykdomshistorien til lille Hans, tar med seg den med tiden svært populære Freud-teksten «Det uhyggelige», den viktige «Sorg og melankoli», og den berømte (og beryktede) teksten om Leonardo da Vinci, før boka avsluttes med artikler viet diktere som Shakespeare, Goethe og Ibsen. I mellomtiden har utvalget svingt innom en rekke spennende kortere tekster av Freud. Slik sett er dette en svært interessant utgivelse. I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Glad I picked this up.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Not bad at all.
