Culmea solidaritatii interetnice infaptuita de Matei, mecanicul roman care face un cazan pentru palinca.Din punct de vedere temporar, Bogdan Suceava pana in Romania coboara pina in Romania comunista (In Bucuresti, cand se lasa seara), in familia lui Tudor Bistreanu, un secretar al Comitetului Central. E o atmosfera care mimeaza normalitatea, de fapt totul este anormal. Sotia lui e nebuna, iar fiica, ca o clona a lui Pavlic Morozov, o arunca de la balcon. Tudor Bistreanu isi admira fiica langa cadavrul sotiei: cat de frumoasa e. El tocmai mai urcase o treapta in conducere, dupa discutia cu Elena Ceausescu.La cealalta extrema temporala e Descompunerea Patriei in particule elementare. Proza e compusa din notele lui Mihai Valeanu din 16 aprilie 2006. El e reporter si filmeaza niste vile ale politicienilor corupti incendiate de teroristii romani (!). Teroristii l-au rapit si i-au spus ca spre dimineata il vor extermina. Ii sugereaza sa scrie adevarul - sa fie un exemplu pentru alti ziaristi.Salutari din Praga e o proza in care se coboara de la realitatea cotidiana la cea livresca. Naratorul homodiegetic trece direct de la ceea ce povesteste iubitei sale in ceea ce povesteste. Pe el il intereseaza daca Tycho Brache, un astronom care a facut un model al universului in centrul caruia e Pamantul, s-a intalnit in Praga cu Mihai Viteazu, caci ambilor le-a fost atribuita o fraza: "Fa, Doamne, sa nu fi trait in van". Jocul coincidentelor, suprapunerilor e "singurul loc pe unde trece Dumnezeu, singura realitate".In Povestea cubului Rubic e vorba despre un tanar care plimba cainele si a fost lovit de un autobuz. Naratiunea e compusa din bucati descriptive si din bucati din gandirea socata/alienata (?) a tanarului care e concentrat pe asezarea cubului Rubic.Bunicul s-a intors la franceza, proza care da titlul volumului, il are in centru pe un batran care a scris o carte de istorie. Din toti care au luptat in statul lui major, impotriva rusilor, a ramas doar el viu. Vrea sa-si spele lasitatea ca nu a fugit in muntii Fagaras cu aceasta carte. Un critic literar ii zice in gluma ca ar fi bine sa fie scrisa in franceza. Cand isi termina de tradus volumul (de 900 de pagini), el innebuneste definitiv.In Lumea ta, rock si parfum de guave e vorba despre o prietenie intre un baiat si o fata. Ei sunt cei mai buni prieteni, dar nu sunt amanti. E o relatie stranie de prietenie cand unul are nevoie de celalalt, cand sunt legati din copilarie, ceea ce ii face sa simta uneori "ca vad mai multi ani deodata, mai multe varste deodata, trecutul si viitorul laolalta, totul dincolo de ceea ce as putea schimba."Bunicul s-a intors la franceza e un volum ciudat de istorii ciudate. Este miraculosul care se intalneste in realitate. Iar naratorii lui Bogdan Suceava sunt ca niste magi care observa lucrurile stranii. E o carte care te captiveaza, iti place si te convinge - cum scrie in prefata Liviu Antonesei. Tot Liviu Antonesei scrie ca "s-ar putea deduce ca am motive de optimism in ce priveste viitorul "literelor romane", pe dimensiunea prozei, vreau sa spun. Atunci, nu-mi ramane decat sa fiu optimist si sa astept in continuare cartile. Inclusiv pe ale lui Bogdan Suceava!".Intr-adevar, ca bunicul s-a intors la franceza nu ne da nici un semn optimist, insa Bunicul s-a intors la franceza e cu siguranta un semn bun pentru proza romaneasca.
