Overview: In late 1996, the format of the examinations for surgical trainees in the UK will change. The existing FRCS diploma examination will be replaced by a new MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) qualification. These changes will be phased in over a period of time. The first major change will be in the existing Part I Applied Basic Sciences examination, which will now consist of two MCQ papers covering both basic and clinical aspects of surgery.; This book consists of more than 400 questions covering basic surgical sciences and clinical general surgery in an integrated fashion. As well as all the major areas of surgery, other topics covered include pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, intensive care, trauma, surgical oncology and post-operative complications. Finished it in a couple of days. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Worth the time and money.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

A very satisfying read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
