Kebangkitan Mesir 2011 adalah melalui tahapan sejarah yang panjang serta bewarna-warni. Maka wajar untuk kita menyusuri dengan mendalam sejarah perlawanan bangsa Mesir dan tokoh besar yang telah mewarnai bumi ambiya' ini. Bersesuaian dengan bulan Februari di mana tokoh besar dunia telah mati dibunuh dengan kejam pada 12 Februari 1949, maestro dakwah dan harakah ini telah menyalakan lantera pencerahan kepada umat setelah kejatuhan Khilafah Islam.Tokoh besar pejuangan Islam ini yang telah membina dan mewariskan pemikiran dan perjuangan yang besar sehingga tersebar ke seluruh belahan dunia, Timur mahupun Barat. Hasan al-Banna telah menempatkan dirinya sebagai simbol kebangkitan umat di zaman moden, sekaligus sebagai pemimpin harakatul dakwah pada abad ke-20. Tidak terhenti setakat itu, Hasan al-Banna mempunyai pakej kepimpinan yang wajar diteladani oleh pewaris dakwah masa kini terutama dalam gelombang serangan pemikiran salibis-imperialis, neo-liberal dan kelompok ekstremis sekular. Ahzab moden seluruhnya telah bersatu untuk memerangi Islam dan umatnya.Ikhwanul Muslimin yang ditubuhkan oleh Hasan al-Banna semenjak tahun 1928 telah puluhan tahun berdada dengan kezaliman taghut terutama di sebelah Asia Barat. Pembantaian, pemenjaraan, perlecehan, penistaan, pembunuhan yang sadis dan pengusiran adalah hamparan ujian yang terhampar dari Mesir, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestin, Arab Saudi, Yaman dan sebagainya.Hasan al-Banna telah menoreh sejarah dunia moden dengan darah yang tumpah berlimpah dan merakamkan namanya di langit sejarah. Rakaman hidupnya direncah dengan hamparan mehnah dan ibtila', yang akhirnya telah membenarkan janjinya kepada Allah SWT. Almarhum berkelana ke alam abadi selepas satu konspirasi membunuhnya pada 12 Februari 1949, di mana beliau ditembak dalam keadaan yang cukup terancang oleh agen Farouk. Babak-babak hitam ini sangat menyentuh perasaan.Darah yang bergenang tumpah tidak dibenarkan untuk dirawat oleh pihak hospital sehingga pendarahan yang banyak telah menyebabkan Hasan al-Banna kehilangan nafas. Namun catatan takdir yang berlaku, dengan darah yang harum mewangi ini telah menjadi baja kepada sebuah kebangkitan Islam dalam tempoh yang panjang, dan terkini, menyaksikan Mesir dilanda 'sergahan langit'. Rejim Mesir yang mewarisi legasi firaun tersungkur dengan palitan lumpur aib yang terhebat dalam sejarah moden.Hasan al-Banna dan Ikhwanul Muslimin telah mewariskan kepada dunia moden akan longgokan karya untuk dikunyah, serta fikrah perjuangan Islam yang dicetuskan telah menjadi teks wajib kepada generasi kebangkitan Islam pada dekad-dekad 1970-an, 1980-an dan sehinggalah hari ini. Cacatlah seorang manusia jika kuping telinganya tidak pernah diterjah dengan idiom Ikhwanul Muslimin dan nama Hasan al-Banna.Tidak ada penjuru dunia yang tidak tersentuh dengan pemikiran almarhum kerana sejarah perjuangannya telah dipahat dengan seribu keteladanan seperti sabar, amanah, berani bersuara, menyantuni pengikut, kuat beribadah, pengarahan yang jelas, serta semenjak kecil lagi diasuh dalam lingkungan agama yang mengesankan kehidupan peribadinya.Majalah edisi khas ini menemui pembaca dan disusun bukan untuk mengkultuskan Ikhwanul Muslimin. Juga bukan untuk mendewakan Hasan al-Banna. Namun susuk peribadi ini dan Ikhwanul Muslimin mempunyai segudang pengalaman sejarah yang cukup bermakna kepada pemerkasaan perjuangan Islam di abad moden terutamanya di negara kita sendiri semenjak dekad 40-an lagi.Pengasasan gerakan Hizbul Muslimin di Gunung Semanggol pada tahun 1948 juga berinspirasikan dan bermodelkan gerakan ini (Khoo Kay Kim, 1994). Seterusnya bersambung dengan Persatuan Islam Se-Tanah Melayu (PAS), dan diperkasakan lagi dengan kemunculan ABIM (1971). Ia disuburkan lagi dengan gerakan kebangkitan Islam terutamanya di kalangan mahasiswa universiti tempatan dan luar negara pada dekad 1970-an dan 1980-an yang juga mendapat suntikan fikrah daripada maestro dakwah ini serta gerakan fenomenal abad ke-20.Generasi dan peserta kebangkitan Islam menghadamkan karya tulisan tokoh Ikhwanul Muslimin seperti Hasan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Said Hawwa, Mustapha Mashyur, Dr. Mustapha Sibaie, Dr. Karim Zaidan, Syeikh Abdul Aziz al-Badri, Umar at-Tilmisani, Zainab al-Ghazali, Yusuf al-Qaradhawi dan lain-lain lagi tokoh ulung mereka.
